The Himalayas in a few million years!
The Himalayas is the world’s highest mountain range immediately at the north of the Indian subcontinent. The Himalayas were formed by the Eurasian and the Indian subcontinent plate colliding against each other about seventy million years ago. After a few million years what will it be? A feature we know is that since plate tectonics move, so will the Himalayas. It is approximate it will move 1,500 km into Asia in ten million years. Another thing we know is the mountain range will shrink in size because of weathering and erosion. I predict in a few million years the mountain range will become a plateau.
How was the Universe made?
The universe is a massive unexplored place where its size is indescribable, but how was it made? There are a lot of different opinions, but my opinion is that the Holy Spirit (God) made the universe. I don’t think it was like a big explosion or just a expansion that came from absolutely nothing. I think God said let there be a universe and then there was the universe. God then started making the universe perfect, so there could be life in the universe. It took seven days to make the universe perfect for life.
What Really Happens in a Chemical Reaction?
When we see a chemical reaction we see events like smoke, bubbles, and sound, but what actually happens in a chemical reaction? Inside a chemical reaction the atoms or molecules of the element interact with the other element’s atoms/molecules. Most of the changes though involve the electrons of the element. That’s what makes the smoke, bubbles, and other chemical features.
Reasons for Lab Safety and Lab Equipment
Lab safety and lab equipment are very important when you are dealing with science. You need lab safety so you won’t get hurt or injured and lab equipment to do procedures and experiments. If there is glass on the floor you don’t want to pick it up because you’ll most likely get cut. To measure the temperature of water or any substance you’ll need lab equipment. When you are following lab safety and using the lab equipment as it’s supposed to be used, you can have a lot of fun with experiments and procedures. Otherwise if you don’t follow lab safety and don’t use the lab equipment as it’s supposed to be used dangerous occurances can happen.
The Working Prize
You have to work hard to accomplish your goals and succeed in life. An example would be working hard and playing hard in baseball may lead you to the MLB. Another example would be working hard in school may lead you to a better job when you grow up.
Working hard is the main step to reach your goal. My goal is to go to the Olympics and be a professional swimmer, but I have to work hard to be a professional swimmer. The year 2009 was the year I was going to reach one of my goals, Tags. Tags is the first step to go to the Olympics, but you have to be the best of the best to go. I work 5 to 6 days a week training to become a better swimmer. On Saturday mornings I swim 7 to 9 and when we have school I have swimming 4:30 to 6:30 in the afternoon. This all pays off though if you work hard.
It’s now March 2009 and my family and I are at Dallas now at the best meet I can go to at my age Tags, [Texas Age Group Swimming]. Here I try to race my fastest against other people all over the state of Texas! I swim 3 events, the 50, 100, and 200 freestyle. I think I ranked 22nd in the 200 free, I think I ranked 16th in the 100 free, and I think I ranked 6th in the 50 free. After the weekend was over my parents congratulated me on my swims and we went to the mall and arcade room to play some fun games, then I was able to buy a new video game called Super Smash Bros.
The prize may be awesome, but remember you have to work hard to get to that prize. Now that I have accomplished one of my goals I feel more confident. I will continue to work hard to accomplish my other goals.
The Sense Gift From God
The sense of sight is a wonderful gift from god. With that sense we can see the world, our faces, and our family! It’s a sense we have to take care of. When I wake up in the morning I feel great for having the sense of sight with me. Without the sense of sight I would only be able to live for a little bit because could you just imagine if you woke up that morning waking up from your alarm clock and it’s all black. It’ll seem like your dreaming and then you’ll still here the alarm clock so you’re wondering what’s happening. Then all of a sudden you realize you’ve gone blind. That would be a horrible event that would happen to me. I mean I would have to do all sorts of different things like read with the feel of touch, having a dog help me cross the street, and I wouldn’t be able to drive a car when I grow up. We need to take the sense of sight very greatly into our hands, cause you could be the next one without the sense of sight.

I put My head down as sad as a puppy dying
for the last two words that went through My mind

Austin News Journal-Run Away Rosens
We have found one particular Jew family that has escaped the Germans.Their family name is the Rosens.
In 1943,Europe families are going to concentration camps and are getting executed from the Nazi leader,Adolf Hitler,but we found a family called the Johansens that had helped the Rosens.
The following facts that we have learned are;Both families went into this forest to go to this house by the ocean to go to Sweden.Then during the night when the soldier already checked their house,Uncle Henrik,the Johansens wife’s brother,and the wife of the Johansens went to the docks to put the Rosens into the boat and take them to safety.Then we learned that the Rosens dropped a basket.So Annemarie,the Johansens oldest daughter went to take it to Uncle Henrik,but was stopped by four soldiers and two dogs.They investigated the basket she had and let her go,but the dogs ate the bread she had for Uncle Henrik.We later found out that it was a handkerchief that had a drug on it,so that the dog’s sense of smell would be gone.Later we learned that the soldiers investigated the boat that had the Rosens in it.They found nothing.
So now we know that the Rosens made it to freedom in Sweden.
The Best Gift I’ve Ever Gotten
It was Friday morning,Dec.25th and my older sister Paige woke my brother Zach and I and said,”Wake up sleepy heads it’s Christmas.”
So my brother and I went downstairs to see the gifts.There were about 30 gifts!My brother,sister,and me all took turns opening gifts.My brother started and he got an Ipod Touch, so I knew that I must have got a really good gift.As the morning started going away I was sort of depressed because I haven’t got anything that was like really special, like the metal detector I wanted.
My brother and my sister had one more gift left and I had no gifts left,but when my sister and my brother both finished I saw my dad carrying something big.I was like,”Could it be?”So I opened the the gift really fast and there it was the metal detector.I was so glad that I gave my mom and dad a big hug and said,”Thank you!”Then I got the metal detector together and went outside to play with it.That was one of my most memorable moment during the holidays.
